Emaar and Lootah Biofuels Launch Sustainable Bio Yacht Fuel at Dubai Marina Yacht Club

Emaar Hospitality Group has partnered with Lootah Biofuels to introduce Sustainable Bio Yacht Fuel at Dubai Marina Yacht Club and Creek Marina Yacht Club, marking one of the region’s first eco-fuel initiatives for leisure yachts. The new fuel, produced from recycled cooking oil collected from hotels, residences, and Emaar developments, offers yacht owners a more environmentally responsible refuelling option right at their home marinas.

The initiative supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 vision and reflects Emaar’s practical approach to sustainability across its marina and hospitality operations. “Sustainability is central to how we manage our marinas,” said Nicolas Belleton of Emaar Hospitality Group. “By offering Sustainable Bio Yacht Fuel, we’re giving our members a real, responsible choice while setting a new benchmark for eco-innovation in the leisure marine sector.” The rollout will take place in phases to ensure consistent fuel quality and smooth operations, with dedicated refuelling points available at both marinas. Initial fueling will be scheduled, with potential expansion based on demand.

Lootah Biofuels, a UAE-based specialist in biodiesel blends made from used cooking oil, will manage the collection, processing, and supply of the fuel. Its solutions have shown meaningful reductions in carbon emissions compared to conventional marine fuel. “We’re proud to work with Emaar on this forward-thinking initiative,” said Yousif Saeed Lootah, CEO of Lootah Biofuels. “It shows how locally sourced waste can be transformed into valuable energy solutions for the marine sector.” The launch builds on Dubai Marina Yacht Club’s existing environmental initiatives, including its Fish Friendly and Clean Marina accreditations and sustainable drinking water systems. Together, these efforts reinforce Emaar’s commitment to making sustainability practical, measurable, and impactful across its marina portfolio.
