Bahrain Inaugurates Luxury Yacht Marina at The Ritz-Carlton, Marking a Milestone in Marine Tourism

In a landmark move to elevate Bahrain’s status as a premier destination for luxury tourism and maritime excellence, a new state-of-the-art marina dedicated to luxury yachts was officially inaugurated on November 12 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Resort & Spa. Named The Royal Marina, the grand opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of officials and dignitaries, including Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications; Mohammed Al-Kooheji, Board Member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Bernard de Villèle, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain; along with prominent business leaders, luxury yacht owners, and media representatives.

In his keynote address, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa hailed the marina as a "qualitative addition" to the Kingdom’s tourism and maritime infrastructure. He emphasized that the project aligns with Bahrain’s broader vision to diversify its economy and strengthen non-oil sectors, particularly luxury marine tourism. “This project reflects investors' confidence in the Kingdom's stable economic environment,” he stated, “and comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance Bahrain's position as a distinguished and integrated tourist destination, and a preferred destination for luxury yacht owners from around the world.”

The newly launched marina is more than just a docking facility—it is a fully integrated luxury experience. Designed to meet the highest international standards, it offers a range of premium services including yacht maintenance, refueling, concierge support, and exclusive hospitality amenities. The facility is expected to attract high-net-worth individuals and yachting enthusiasts from across the globe, further boosting Bahrain’s appeal as a luxury travel hub. Officials also highlighted the marina’s role in supporting Bahrain’s strategic goals of economic diversification and sustainable development. The project is seen as a successful example of public-private partnership, with strong backing from both government entities and the private sector.

Looking ahead, there are plans to host Bahrain’s first international yacht race by the end of 2026, a move that would further cement the Kingdom’s reputation on the global marine tourism map. With its blend of opulent hospitality and world-class marine infrastructure, the new marina at The Ritz-Carlton is poised to become a beacon for luxury tourism in the region, reinforcing Bahrain’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and economic growth. --- Would you like this formatted for a press release or newsletter as well?
